Dan Pfister Bikes Against MS

August 10, 2012

Last month, Dan Pfister of Owens Corning (2012 AMAROK Vendor of the Year) set out to bike 150 miles as part of the Great Western Multiple Sclerosis (MS) 150 in Colorado, which benefits The National MS Society.

The National MS Society is a collective of passionate individuals who want to to move together toward a world free of multiple sclerosis. MS is a chronic, often disabling disease that attacks the central nervous system, which is made up of the brain, spinal cord, and optic nerves.

Not only did Dan reach the 150 mile-mark, he surpassed it by riding back-to-back Centuries (100 miles for two consecutive days) and doing so at a record pace of almost 17 MPH for all 100 miles. Not only that, we were pleased to hear that he successfully completed the race without injuries or bike mechanical problems. Impressive.

While not giving up riding, Dan has his sights set on some new rides with new challenges. This race marked Dan’s 13th MS150 Colorado ride and also his last. What a way to go out on top.

Congrats to Dan and his team as he raised over $5,000 in his goal to support research to create a world free of Multiple Sclerosis.  Imagine if we all did that! AMAROK is proud to have supported Dan.

His efforts will likely land him in the Top 100 Club recognized by the MS Society.
