Salt Lake City Mayor Proclaims June 22 "Industrial Supply Day"

July 6, 2016

SALT LAKE CITY, UTAH, June 22, 2016—On Wednesday, Salt Lake City Mayor Jackie Biskupski proclaimed June 22 “Industrial Supply Day.” Industrial Supply Company, the region’s largest private distributor of maintenance, repair and operational equipment, is commemorating their 100th year in business. The company celebrated the anniversary with their vendors and customers at their annual Toolapalooza event on the same day.

The mayor noted Industrial Supply’s active involvement in helping businesses succeed in our local economy, their charitable contributions to the community, and their service to many key industries here in Utah including construction, mining, energy, manufacturing and aerospace. She encouraged all residents to reflect on the value small business and entrepreneurs add to our community through economic development and civic engagement.

Industrial Supply Company was established in 1916 when Rudolph Orlob founded the Mountain States Rubber Company to provide products to the mining industry. He later expanded into tools, metals and fasteners to become a leader in the industry with 7 locations and 170 employees serving customers in Utah, Wyoming, Nevada and Idaho.

“We are honored to receive this recognition, and we look forward to 100 more years of doing business here,” said Jessica Yurgaitis, Industrial Supply Company’s Vice President of Marketing. “We credit our customers, employees, and friends for our success. Thank you all for your support.”
