AD Building Materials Welcomes Jackson and McGrath to Divisional Board

August 1, 2016

The AD Building Materials Divisional Board and Staff are pleased to announce the appointment of two new Board Members, each with 4-year terms beginning this fall 2016: Adam Jackson, Treasurer, Allsteel & Gypsum Products, Inc. and Jeanne McGrath, President, Holmes Drywall Supply.

Membership spoke favorably for Adam and Jeanne with overwhelming support through ratification votes for both candidates. Jeanne commented how “now more than ever we need a strong voice to our manufacturers to level the playing field; I will be that voice for us”. Adam stated that he “looks forward to having greater involvement with AD and pushing for the independent”. The AD Building Materials team is pleased to have two strong new voices on the divisional board for the next four years.

Being of British decent, Adam began his education in the U.K. and later finished in Boca Raton, Florida where he met his wife Dawn Jackson (Markus) in 1995. The Markus Family purchased Allsteel in 1991 and welcomed Adam to the team in 1997.

Adam began his career in Allsteel’s steel processing division and in 2008 changed roles to become general manager for Allsteel & Gypsum. Unique to the market, Allsteel is a Steel Coil Processor, a Steel Stud Manufacturer, as well as a Building Supply Company servicing commercial and residential contractors both domestically and internationally.

Allsteel has been a member of AMAROK/AD since 1999. Their memberships in Steel Stud Manufacturing Associations include SSFSA and SFIA.

Today, Adam along with his wife Dawn, have taken over from Glenn and Alana Markus as fourth generation in the Building Supply Business. Together they run the business, have been married 18 years and have 2 middle school aged children.

Jeanne's career in the drywall industry happened by chance. As a graduate of Kansas University, she entered the field of psychology for the mentally ill.  But a turn of events brought her into her father’s drywall supply business, and 35 years later, she is still there!  As President for the past 27 years, they have opened two more yards and extend service to the commercial, residential and multi-family markets.  Instilled with the sense of a workaholic, Jeanne really enjoys her job.

In her leisure time, she loves traveling Europe and the Caribbean.  She lives in a lake community and finds her relaxation at the water’s edge.  Gardening, cooking, and entertaining family and friends is most important to her. She has two children, Ryan and Vanessa, and sees their future third generation president, Vanessa, working diligently beside her.

Holmes Drywall has been a member of AMAROK/AD since June of 1997. Jeanne served on the AMAROK Board from 2003 to 2006, and hopes to keep the independent coop spirit alive and well as we travel this consolidation wave.  She is dedicated to working hard for our future prosperity.

AD Building Materials extends a huge thank you to Jim Cauley of Interior Supply, Inc. and Amanda Montford of Savannah Drywall Supply, Inc. for their years of service. Both Jim and Amanda have been integral parts in making AD Building Materials what it is today and we will greatly miss their integrity, leadership, and vision on the Board.
