June 2, 2022

Orlando, FL. – The AD Electrical division held its 2022 Spring Network Meeting on April 26th – 28th, 2022 at the Rosen Shingle Creek hotel. During the meeting, AD members focused on continued growth through strong business relationships and enhanced AD programs.

In his opening remarks, AD’s Chairman and CEO Bill Weisberg praised the division and AD team for astounding record growth, noting that purchases from AD suppliers grew by 39% to $16.6 billion in 2021.

“2021 was truly remarkable with eight all-time record months,” Weisberg said. “I’m incredibly proud of the team we have that works so hard on behalf of the members. We will continue to use our scale to invest in resources and execute cost effective programs that help you grow. For us, it’s important to focus on our people. Listen and understand what they need. My commitment to you is to continue to deliver value and respect your independence.”

Complementing Bill’s message, Dave Kinsella, president of AD’s Electrical-U.S. division, congratulated the group on the spectacular numbers and provided an outlook for 2022.

“The members of AD once again prove to be premier independents in the industry,” Kinsella said. “2022 is starting out strong with the business being up 41% through the first quarter.”

Kinsella highlighted proven AD programs that help members grow. The AD eCommerce Solutions program has grown with the needs of AD members and now has 6.3 million enhanced SKUs from 3,600 suppliers. In addition, the AD Rewards program drove a 20% increase in counter sales with participating AD suppliers in 2021.

“All of our programs are member initiated and driven, and we will continue to listen to your needs and create programs that bring value to you. The Governance Committee and Supplier Advisory Council have been instrumental in identifying and tackling how to make AD members players in new spaces. We are listening, strategizing, and executing,” Kinsella said.

John Hanna, president of Fromm Electric Supply Corp. and AD Electrical-U.S. divisional board chair, addressed the group in the U.S. member business meeting and communicated a streamlined process and plan to enhance the governance structure to be nimble and collaborative and put the power of AD to work on behalf of its members.

“We are developing a strategy to maximize and enhance your AD experience, which includes a strategic decision-making board that will drive efficiencies and speed in a quick-moving and changing time in the industry,” Hanna said. “Your voice needs to be heard through participation in surveys, network groups, governance and program engagement.”
